North Carolina Democrat Consistently Opposes Domestic Energy Production, Even Though Gas Prices Have Increased More Under Obama Than Any President Since Carter
WASHINGTON — After examining Larry Kissell’s stubborn opposition to an all-the-above energy policy which would result in more jobs and energy independence, it is no surprise his Democrat policies are seeing gas prices soar to record highs. In fact, the Kissell-Obama agenda that has stifled domestic energy production and squandered taxpayer dollars on unproven technologies has also resulted in the largest increase in gas prices under any president since Jimmy Carter.
“After a long history of anti-energy policies from Larry Kissell and his fellow Washington Democrats, working families and small businesses have had to endure the largest spike in gas prices since Jimmy Carter,” said NRCC Communications Director Paul Lindsay. “With this record, it is clear Kissell and President Obama are either unwilling or unable to embrace the all-the-above energy solutions needed to further real energy independence that will help boost America’s economy.”
Kissell opposed the following efforts to promote domestic energy production passed by the House:
• Putting the Gulf of Mexico Back to Work Act (Roll Call #309, 5/11/11)
• Reversing President Obama’s Offshore Moratorium Act (Roll Call #320, 5/12/11)
• Jobs and Energy Permitting Act of 2011 (Roll Call #478, 6/22/11)
Democrat opposition to domestic energy production has been followed with record high gas prices and one of the largest price increases in a generation:
