Why is Hochul Hiding?

March 1, 2012

Kathy Hochul’s week went from bad to worse on Wednesday.

First, As WGRZ Channel 2 in Buffalo reported, the NRCC held Hochul accountable for her attack on the Constitution and religious freedom, contacting more than 200,000 Western New Yorkers in a paid effort and launching a website www.whatdoeshochulbelieve.com Instead of facing her constituents and answer the mounting questions about her beliefs, Hochul hid behind a spokesman and refused to answer any questions.

Second, another story broke a story about a massive backlog of mail and uncashed checks at the county clerk’s office dating back 18 months to when Hochul was county clerk. The story described the conditions at the office under Hochul’s leadership as "… paralysis…and no one did anything. No one listened to any of the employees.” Instead of answering questions, Hochul again hid behind a spokesman and refused to face constituents.

Why is Kathy Hochul hiding?

Why won’t Kathy Hochul come clean and answer questions herself? What else is she afraid of admitting when put under pressure?

As you cover the NRCC’s campaign to hold Kathy Hochul accountable for her actions, please consider the following quote:

NRCC Comment: “Kathy Hochul may think she can hide, but Western New Yorkers demand accountability. By hiding rather than answering mounting questions about her beliefs and actions, Hochul is only proving she doesn’t think she is accountable to her constituents.” – NRCC Spokesman Nat Sillin
