Chairman Sessions’ Statement on the Nomination of Rodney Davis in Illinois’ 13th Congressional District

May 19, 2012

WASHINGTON – National Republican Congressional Committee Chairman Pete Sessions (R-TX) released the following statement regarding the Republican Party’s nomination of Rodney Davis in the 13th Congressional District of Illinois:

“I congratulate Rodney Davis on his nomination. Throughout his career in public service, Rodney Davis has a track record of advocating for the conservative ideals that protect individual freedoms and the free enterprise system. Rodney Davis has proven strong grassroots support in his quest to fight for more jobs and less government, and I look forward to working with him and our expanding team of Republican candidates.

“In a seat that favors Republicans, the Democrats are also faced with the daunting task of backing a flawed candidate in David Gill as he attempts his fourth run for a congressional seat. The odds against David Gill are only magnified as the Democrats’ agenda of spending, taxing and borrowing continues to hurt Illinois families.”
