NRCC Announces Second Round of Young Guns Vanguard Program
Four Top-Tier Republicans Enrolled In Program For Candidates in GOP-Leaning Seats

WASHINGTON — The National Republican Congressional Committee (NRCC) announced today that four Republican candidates were inducted into the Young Guns Vanguard program. The Vanguard program provides a framework for the NRCC to assist candidates running in Republican-leaning seats as they head into the fall. It kicks off a working relationship between the NRCC and these Vanguard candidates, as well as their future colleagues in the House Republican Conference, in advance of the election.

“These Young Gun Vanguard candidates will play an imperative role in our goal to keep Nancy Pelosi from reclaiming the Speaker’s gavel,” said NRCC Chairman Pete Sessions (R-TX). “Middle-class families are tired of President Obama’s out-of-touch agenda that is assaulting the free-enterprise system, and these four candidates will fight tirelessly to offer fiscally sound solutions to get our economy back on track.”

The Young Guns Vanguard is an extension of the NRCC’s Young Guns Program, which was originally founded in the 2007-2008 election cycle by Reps. Eric Cantor (R-VA), Kevin McCarthy (R-CA), and Paul Ryan (R-WI) as a member-driven organization, the Young Guns program has become an official NRCC effort with the help of the Young Gun founders and is dedicated to electing open-seat and challenger candidates nationwide. Reps. Cantor, McCarthy and Ryan remain very involved in Young Guns, working together to recruit and prime conservative leaders for victory.

The NRCC’s Second Round Of Young Guns Vanguard Candidates Are:

• Tom Cotton (AR-04)
• Doug LaMalfa (CA-01)
• Thomas Massie (KY-04)
• Brad Wenstrup (OH-02)
