Ben Chandler – Empty Promises

June 25, 2012

Last night Ben Chandler joined Obama Administration officials in Lexington to promote another multi-billion dollar stimulus-style project.

As part of the original failed stimulus bill President Obama wasted $12 billion on government programs that did nothing to reduce unemployment. In his latest disastrous budget proposal, he’s proposed giving another $8 billion to the Labor Department for more bureaucratic, Washington D.C. failures. This promise sounds a lot like the $800 billion price tag to keep unemployment under 8 percent. How did that work for Kentuckians?

Furthermore, the Labor Department’s last taxpayer funded job training program supported by Chandler – a $500 million “green jobs” program only met 10% of their job placement goal according to their own report. Rather than getting the economy moving with pro-growth policies, Obama and Chandler are pushing more big-government spending programs that just don’t work.

As you cover the Obama Administration visit to Bluegrass Community and Technical College today, please consider the following quote:

NRCC Comment: “Not only is Ben Chandler rubber-stamping failed big-government stimulus style programs that have squandered billions of taxpayer dollars, but he’s cheerleading for them. Talk about adding insult to injury. Kentuckians just don’t want any more of Obama and Chandler’s empty promises when it comes to jobs and the economy.” – NRCC Spokesman Nat Sillin
