Carol Shea-Porter’s Super PAC Hypocrisy

Carol Shea-Porter’s hypocrisy knows no bounds. In January, Shea-Porter authored an op-ed decrying Super PACs. She wrote, “Super PACs and their very wealthy donors are drowning out the voices of the small-dollar donors… Ask candidates if they will support legislation to take this kind of money out of politics.” Then for the next four months, while a San Francisco based liberal Super PAC came into New Hampshire and attacked her opponent , she remained silent.

Now, after being pressed on her blatant hypocrisy, she’s made it official – Shea-Porter thinks Super PACs engaging in negative ground activities and election persuasion is just fine – since that’s what the Super PAC CREDO is doing to attack her opponent.

As you cover the latest iteration of Carol Shea-Porter’s hypocrisy when it comes to Super PACs, please consider the following quote:

NRCC Comment: “Granite State voters have learned that when Carol Shea-Porter makes a promise or a pledge, they have to check the fine print because there’s always a caveat or loophole. Shea-Porter’s endorsement of certain activities that the radical activist Super PAC CREDO is already conducting on her behalf shows that her rhetoric and promises are nothing more than empty words.” – NRCC Spokesman Nat Sillin
