Dave Crooks Out-of-Touch with middle Class

June 25, 2012

Please consider the following statement from the National Republican Congressional Committee as you cover Indiana Democrats’ decision to nominate career politician Dave Crooks through a backroom process that deprived voters of a chance to make a decision for themselves.

“Dave Crooks couldn’t face voters because he knows his job-destroying record is wildly out-of-touch with Hoosier middle-class families. Crooks would fit right in as one of Obama’s Washington cronies with his bad habits of supporting job-crushing taxes and voting to double his taxpayer-funded salary. In striking contrast, Hoosier families are strongly behind Dr. Bucshon’s fight to fix Obama’s broken Washington.” – NRCC Spokeswoman Andrea Bozek

Background on Dave Crooks:

Ø During his time in the Indiana State House, Dave Crooks turned his back on Hoosiers and voted against property tax relief. Crooks could have saved Hoosiers a half a billion dollars in property taxes, but chose to take the liberal path toward fiscal recklessness. Ø Dave Crooks voted to nearly double his own taxpayer funded salary. (S.B. 401, Roll Call #501<http://www.in.gov/legislative/bills/2007/PDF/Hrollcal/0501.PDF.pdf>, Indiana General Assembly, April 10, 2007/ Karen Eschbacher, “Lawmakers: Raise, Please,” The Indianapolis Star, April 11, 2007)
