John Barrow failed stimulus
Instead of flat out admitting that his failed stimulus was a mistake, John Barrow continues to point fingers elsewhere for his failed spending plan that has led to Georgia’s record-high 10.2% unemployment rate. Barrow says today in Roll Call, “What I regret about the stimulus is that it was ballyhooed and represented by its proponents to do a whole lot more than it was going to do.” Obama and Barrow both promised their ‘stimulus’ spending plan would keep unemployment below eight percent, but it’s clear now that the stimulus did not deliver on its promises. Almost three years later, Georgia families are still asking ‘where are the jobs?’
Barrow is trying to have it both ways because he knows that his re-election chances are in trouble, as voters will hold him accountable for his failed spending plan. Instead of blaming others, Barrow should admit that his stimulus boondoggle didn’t create the jobs it promised and should now spend his time helping Georgia small businesses create jobs, not pointing fingers.

NRCC COMMENT:“Another day, another excuse from John Barrow. Despite Barrow’s rhetoric we know that he will always be a reliable rubber stamp for Obama’s job-crushing agenda that has driven Georgia’s record-high unemployment. No matter who Barrow tries to blame for his failed economic policies, Georgia families will always remember that he voted for the stimulus boondoggle that failed to create the jobs he promised.” – NRCC Spokeswoman Andrea Bozek
