John Tierney hiding behind a spokesperson

June 25, 2012

With Members of Congress at home this week it’s a great opportunity for reporters and concerned citizens to ask John Tierney about the growing ethical cloud surrounding him. Last week, rather than come clean when pressed for answers about what he knew – Tierney bobbed and weaved – hiding behind a spokesperson.

TODAY’S QUESTION FOR TIERNEY:

Not once, but twice, Tierney and his wife visited the family’s illegal gambling headquarters in Antigua. During the trial of one brother-in-law, a witness who saw Tierney dining in the headquarters described the scene“There (were) big televisions. There were computers and people on phones. There was never a time when there wasn’t a football game (on).” There was simply no mistaking what was going on.

If you dine in headquarters of a multi-million dollar gambling empire with computers, TVs and people on phones – how do you not know where you are?
