Kathy Hochul for Military Cuts

Today Kathy Hochul voted against a measure to stop devastating budget cuts that would affect our military and military personnel like those at Niagara Falls Air Reserve Station. Hochul voted to allow these military cuts that, as Defense Secretary Leon Panetta said, would be “devastating” and “terribly weaken” our national security in order to keep big-government spending programs like ObamaCare.

Thirty one military service and veterans organizations urged Congress this week to save America’s Armed Forces from the “catastrophic impact that sequestration would have on the defense budget and future national security” – yet Hochul ignored their voices.

As you cover Hochul’s decision to vote against efforts to replace dangerous and arbitrary defense cuts with common-sense spending reforms, consider the following quote:

NRCC Comment: “Today Kathy Hochul chose big-government spending programs like ObamaCare over Western New York military families and veterans including those at Niagara Falls Air Reserve Station. Our military is facing devastating cuts that could be stopped and replaced with common-sense reforms but Kathy Hochul wouldn’t look past partisan politics to protect our troops.” –NRCC spokesman Nat Sillin
