Missa Eaton Timing is everthing

June 25, 2012

Today, Missa Eaton threw her hat in the ring for the democratic nomination in Pennsylvania’s 3rd Congressional District. As Missa will undoubtedly learn, in politics, timing is everything.

Ironically, Eaton announced her candidacy proclaiming she would stand up to those who would end Medicare and that President Obama’s healthcare law "did some real good" on the one year anniversary that her Democrat colleagues voted to keep the government takeover of healthcare, and keep $500 billion in cuts to Medicare in place. (Roll Call #14, 1/19/11)

Even more ironically, In the same breath that she said she would stand up to those who would end Medicare, she said she would NOT have voted to return the $500 billion in cuts to Medicare courtesy of Obamacare. Say what? Yep, it’s true.

As you cover Eaton’s campaign announcement, please consider the following quote:

NRCC Comment: "It’s frightening that Missa Eaton wants to keep the government takeover of healthcare in place, which would endanger Medicare and severely limit seniors’ access to care. You can’t help but feel sorry for candidates like Eaton that are running on Obama’s failed policies. Western Pennsylvanians do not want an Obama rubber-stamp like Eaton who will pursue the same big-government agenda that has already destroyed our economy. " – NRCC Spokesman Nat Sillin
