Last week Congressman Tierney and his wife should have celebrated the one year anniversary of her release from jail. She got 30 days for aiding and abetting in filing false tax returns for her brothers’ $10 million gambling ring.

As you may recall, she claimed to have been hoodwinked by her brother about the illegal activity despite the involvement of both brothers, her father and her son. Really? Then why was she a hostile government witness in her brother’s trial?

Since her arrest and conviction, Congressman Tierney has claimed complete ignorance. He had no idea of what was going on because he has a 21st century marriage. If that is true, then why did Mrs. Tierney invoke spousal privilege when she was called to testify?

Congressman Tierney refuses to answer any questions about his wife’s illegal activities. This is a guy who sites on the Oversight Committee which investigates for Congress!

So what is new on tarnished Tierney? Yesterday, the Congressman challenged Rich Tisei to denounce the National Republican Congressional Committee’s website demanding answers about his knowledge about his wife’s illegal activities.

Congressman Tierney, the problem is not the NRCC website. It is your refusal to answer any questions. Shame on you. You owe some answers to the public. Personally, I want to know how your wife got only 30 days while Speaker Sal DiMasi got 8 1/2 years.
