NRCC “Truth Test” TV Ad: Ben Chandler Held Accountable for Big Spending in Washington

Kentucky Dem is Under Attack for Being Misleading and Deceptive to Kentuckians

WASHINGTON – As Kentucky families and small businesses are still suffering in a weak Democrat economy, the National Republican Congressional Committee has released an ad highlighting Ben Chandler’s reckless spending addiction. Ben Chandler has plagued voters in Kentucky with more debt and less economic stability while being deceptive and misleading.

“Ben Chandler’s rhetoric in Kentucky fails to match his record in Washington.  Chandler has always been a big spender in Washington while trying to fool voters at home with talk of fiscal responsibility,” said NRCC Communications Director Paul Lindsay. “After being put to a truth test, voters in Kentucky can see that Chandler is a Washington politician that continues to vote for more reckless spending and more big-government control.”

The script for this ad is as follows:

ANNOUNCER: It’s time for the truth test. Watch Ben Chandler:

CHANDLER: I’ve always been of the belief that if you spend more than you take it, you’re going to go broke.

ANNOUNCER: Misleading. The budget Chandler voted for spent 1.2 trillion more than it took in.

CHANDLER: It’s important that we get this debt under control.

ANOUNCER: Deceptive. Chandler voted to increase the national debt limit by $6 trillion.

Ben Chandler – big spending in Washington, false ads in Kentucky.
