Kentucky Dem Supports Obama’s Failed Energy Policies

WASHINGTON – The National Republican Congressional Committee has released a radio ad highlighting Ben Chandler’s steadfast support of President Obama’s war on American energy, regardless of its effect on Kentucky families. By supporting Obama’s radical energy and cap and trade policies, Chandler has proven to be a politician who puts Obama first, and his constituents last.

“Kentucky families cannot afford a politician who is willing to destroy Kentucky jobs in order to support President Obama’s agenda,” said NRCC Communications Director Paul Lindsay. “Ben Chandler says he has supported Obama ‘right along,’ and for once these comments match his voting record.  Now it’s time for Chandler to be honest about the effect that his cap-and-trade plan would have on Kentucky jobs.”

Listen to the ad here. The script is as follows:

ANNOUNCER: Give President Obama credit, he’s been honest about the effect of his radical energy plan, listen:

OBAMA: Under my plan, of a cap and trade system, the electricity rates wouldn’t necessarily sky rocket.

ANNOUNCER: But our Congressman Ben Chandler voted for it anyway.

OBAMA: If someone wants to build a coal power plant, they can, it’s just that it will bankrupt them.

ANNOUNCER: But Ben Chandler supported it anyway. Experts say Obama’s cap and trade plans could eliminate 35,000 Kentucky jobs. Obama and Chandler pushed polices that would be a disaster for Kentucky coal and the counties that depend on it.

Listen to Ben Chandler talking to Lexington TV:

CHANDLER: I have supported the President right along…

 ANNOUNCER: Again Ben,

CHANDLER: I have supported the President right along…

ANNOUNCER: Kentucky cannot afford a Congressman who supports the President’s policies that cost Kentucky jobs.
