Bishop Had a Choice – And He Chose 15 Medicare-Cutting Bureaucrats Over 50 Million Seniors
Fifteen Bureaucrats Will Oversee Medicare Raid, Take Medical Decisions Away from 50 Million Seniors and Their Doctors
WASHINGTON — It’s hard to believe that 15 unelected, unaccountable Washington bureaucrats are going to make healthcare choices for almost 50 million seniors but thanks to Tim Bishop, that’s exactly what is going to happen. As Bishop defends his big-government healthcare takeover and its board of unelected bureaucrats, seniors lose control over their Medicare treatment options and get to watch as Medicare goes bankrupt.
“Tim Bishop had to choose one – ObamaCare or Medicare – at the cost of the other and he chose ObamaCare,” said NRCC Communications Director Paul Lindsay. “Thus, over $700 billion was raided from Medicare to pay for Bishop’s takeover of healthcare, putting government in charge of seniors’ healthcare along the way.”
Bishop voted to keep the board of 15 unelected, unaccountable bureaucrats that will make seniors’ choices for them. (H.R. 5, Roll Call #126, 3/22/12)
Doctors cannot even make up the majority of the bureaucratic board in control of nearly 50 million seniors’ Medicare:
“Individuals who are directly involved in the provision or management of the delivery of items and services covered under this title shall not constitute a majority of the appointed membership of the Board.” (p. 423, Compilation of Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, 6/09/2010)
