Ed Perlmutter Assumed Office Almost Six Years Ago, Isn’t it Time for Him to Assume Responsibility?
Perlmutter’s Spending, Taxing and Borrowing Hasn’t Worked for Colorado Families But He Still Wants More of the Same
WASHINGTON — Frustrated with the direction of the economy, Colorado families and small business owners are seeing their healthcare choices threatened and their paychecks funding Ed Perlmutter’s spending addiction. Since coming to Washington, Perlmutter has fully embraced his party’s out-of-touch agenda, putting the weight of his burdensome policies on the shoulders of Colorado families and small businesses.
“Ed Perlmutter was sworn into office in 2007 and since then Colorado families have seen a bad economy get worse,” said NRCC Communications director Paul Lindsay. “It’s time for Perlmutter to take responsibility for his job-crushing agenda that is keeping ObamaCare the law of the land and burdening generations of Colorado taxpayers with mountains of debt.”
A decisive majority of Americans believe the economy is headed in the wrong direction under Democrat leadership in Washington:
“Two thirds of the sample said the country is headed off on the wrong track, while just 31 percent think it is headed in the right direction.” (Chris Cillizza, “The 10 numbers that matter in the new Washington Post-ABC News poll,” Washingtion Post, 8/27/2012)
Small business owners are unable to retire until their businesses are no longer suffering under a Democrat-led, persistently slow economy:
“But for entrepreneurs in their 60s and 70s, the consequences have been particularly vexing.”
“Many of them are stuck in ‘business purgatory,’ unable to retire and forced to hang on for a recovery that economists say could still be a long way off.” (Emily Maltby and Sarah E. Needleman, “’The Economy Stole My Retirement’,” Wall Street Journal, 8/29/2012)
