After yesterday’s circus of a press conference hosted by David Gill, Illinois families are reading the coverage throughout the district. The problem for Illinois families is still that David Gill and the DCCC didn’t give them a straight answer.

Gill couldn’t explain what the separate “grassroots funding” program is at the DCCC. Gill couldn’t provide documentation about this special money pile at the DCCC like he promised. And to make matters worse, the DCCC said:

@WCIASteve: Got off the phone with the DCCC. They say the commercial was paid entirely with grassroots money. But they said there is no separate fund.

Questions for David Gill:

Did David Gill get something in writing from the DCCC before airing the ad to confirm it was only grassroots money?

Was the grassroots money from Illinois donors, donors from the district or grassroots donors from New York, California, and Washington DC? How do they keep track?

When he was bashing his primary opponent, did he know that the DCCC’s support was corporate for some people and not for others?
