Politico’s Ben White: Trillion-Dollar Coin Would Make U.S. “A Laughingstock”

President Obama is getting roundly criticized after refusing to rule out liberals’ idea to mint a trillion-dollar coin.

At yesterday’s White House press briefing, Press Secretary Jay Carney was asked five separate times to dismiss the plan. Yet each time, he refused to say “no.”

On MSNBC’s The Daily Rundown today, Politico’s Ben White called the plan a “disaster” and said it would make the U.S. “a laughingstock.”

Both White and NBC News White House Correspondent Chuck Todd expressed shock that the White House didn’t dismiss it.
