Where’s Rep Horsford? Bueller? Bueller?
Just three days ago, following the President’s State Of The Union Address, Democratic Congressman Steven Horsford (04-NV) said the following,
“Congress must avoid economic brinksmanship that would devastate millions of Americans. We will work to get our country’s debt under control, but we will not do it by balancing the budget on the backs of middle-class families.” (“Nevada Congressman Steven Horsford issues statement on State of Union,” Reno Gazette-Journal, 2/13/13)
But today, Congressman Horsford’s actions did just that. Horsford skipped out on the vote to block a pay increase for himself and fellow members of congress.
So where was Congressman Horsford?
Bueller? Bueller?
If there’s any doubt that Horsford intentionally skipped out on this vote in his own self-interest…that doubt can be squashed in learning that Horsford participated in the next vote, just 8 minutes later.
“Congressman Horsford’s silence is deafening. Despite earning more than three times the median income in Nevada, Congressman Horsford chose not to vote in favor of freezing his pay and instead asks taxpayers to funnel more of their hard earned money toward his lavish salary.” – NRCC Spokeswoman, Alleigh Marré
