Carol Shea-Porter’s Sequestration Deception

As New Hampshire braces for the drastic Sequester cuts due to hit this week, Carol Shea-Porter is staying on her message – unfortunately, that message is blatantly disingenuous.

Despite her claims to the contrary, the Sequester disaster was not a device forced on the President and the Senate by House Republicans. As Pulitzer Prize winning reporter/author Bob Woodward has confirmed, that idea not only originated with the White House, but it was never meant to include tax increases.

In other words, Shea-Porter has fully signed on to what Woodward characterizes as months of dissembling and moving the goal posts.

And of course Shea-Porter fails to ever mention that Republicans have twice passed bills to cancel the Sequestration – (H.R. 5652,Vote #247, Passed 218-199, 5/12/12; H.R. 6684, Vote #644, Passed 215-209, 12/20/12).
