John Tierney’s double dealing budget vote
This is unbelievable. John Tierney just voted for the ultra-liberal ‘Progressive Budget’ that is so far to the left that 101 other Democrats voted against and only 84 Democrats voting for it. Even Nancy Pelosi voted against it!
It’s a budget that slashes defense spending to 2006 levels, making the sequester look like a paper cut; such drastic reductions could directly impact jobs supported by Hanscom Air Force base.
It would raise taxes by $5.7 trillion and would replace the Affordable Care Act with an even more radical government run health care system.
This is a budget so bad that Bill Clinton wrote in his book that it would cause companies to flee the United States and relocate to other countries and that it could result in a loss of tax revenues for the government.
And the craziest thing is – this budget was so bad that Tierney voted against it last year . . . when he was running for re-election.
“John Tierney’s vote for a job-killing budget that even Nancy Pelosi couldn’t support is bad enough. But the fact that he voted against the same budget last year while running for re-election is exactly the kind of pathetic double dealing that Massachusetts has come to expect from Tierney.” – NRCC Spokesman Ian Prior
