Obama’s Budget Is Getting Worse Reviews Than Gigli

April 9, 2013

We’re just a few short hours from President Obama unveiling his budget and it’s already getting worse reviews than Gigli.

It’s not just Republicans that are voicing serious objections, even Democrats are proving to be firmly opposed to the higher taxes and new spending found in the president’s unbalanced budget.

As the Associated Press writes, “Obama’s budget, two months overdue but to be released Wednesday, mixes almost $600 billion in new taxes over the coming decade with modest curbs on spending, including lower-than-scheduled benefit increases for people receiving Social Security. The wealthy would lose the full benefit of some tax breaks while the poor and middle class would gradually slip into higher tax brackets.”

Vice President Biden famously said last year, “Show me your budget and I’ll tell you what you value.”

If we apply that standard to this disastrous proposal, it just reinforces what we already know. President Obama and his liberal allies don’t care about balancing the budget and creating jobs for middle class families. They simply want higher taxes to pay for their growing bureaucracy.

After seeing Obama’s late budget panned from both Democrats and Republicans alike, I can’t help but wonder: we waited two months for this?
