Does Cheri Bustos Support Obama’s budget?

April 11, 2013

Yesterday, President Obama submitted his budget to Congress, but what we all missed was how Cheri Bustos feels about his budget and if she plans to support it. Cheri is not shy about using her Washington politician talking points to call for a balanced approach:

From the Rockford Register Star: Bustos pushed a “balanced approach” to balancing the budgets…

From the Daily Review Atlas: “We need to take a balanced approach. We cannot cut ourselves out of this problem,” Bustos said in a conference call with reporters.

From Bustos’ Chicago Tribune Questionnaire: I favor a balanced approach toward eliminating the budget deficit that requires Washington to get more efficient and smarter…

But what does that mean? When she had the chance, Bustos voted against the House Republican budget which is the only proposed budget that actually balances. She also voted against the budget proposed by House Democrats. So far Cheri has been the party of NO when it comes to House budgets so will she now support President Obama’s budget?

Cheri Bustos says she wants to see a balanced approach to our nation’s budget woes but when she had the opportunity to make that a reality she voted no. Now, Cheri Bustos is silent on President Obama’s proposed budget. It’s time for Bustos to let Illinois families know if she has the President’s back and supports his latest budget or will continue with her political games.
