NRCC to Annie Kuster: Release Your Tax Returns

April 15, 2013

Benjamin Franklin famously observed that “nothing can be said to be certain, except death and taxes.”

Franklin would probably agree, however, that based on recent and consistent history it is far from certain that Annie Kuster will pay her taxes on time. As everyone is by now aware, Kuster, who calls for millionaires to pay their fair share in taxes, was late on over $40,000 worth of property taxes – despite herself being worth $2 million.

Now that Annie Kuster is a Congresswoman with a history of tax delinquency, she should publicly release her tax returns and show her constituents that, this year, she has nothing to hide. Especially since the NRCC provided her with free tax prep software which she then mailed back using taxpayer funds (when she could have simply walked it across the street for free).

Annie Kuster’s history of tax delinquency is inexcusable, especially for someone of her wealth and position who campaigned on people needing to pay their fair share of taxes. Now that she is in Congress and an employee of the people of New Hampshire, she should publicly release her tax returns so that everyone can rest assured that she has learned to pay her taxes on time. – NRCC Spokesman Ian Prior
