Breaking: Nick Rahall to run for Fantasy Island’s Congressional Seat

West Virginia’s Congressman Nick Rahall, who has been in Congress since Fantasy Island was on the air, is getting set to announce that he is seeking re-election. Unfortunately for his constituents, Nick Rahall may be better suited to be Congressman of Fantasy Island than West Virginia.

Here’s just one example of how out-of-touch Rahall has become. Democrats everywhere are struggling to explain their support for Obamacare. Even the President has difficulty defending his disastrous healthcare law. But as bad as Obamacare is, wait till you get a load of Rahallcare.

Nick Rahall wants to go even further than Obama and enact a government-run, public option. That’s right, in addition to a carbon tax and higher taxes on West Virginia’s coal industry, the ultra-liberal budget for which Rahall voted includes full government run health care.

Read this New York Times column illustrating how bad this budget really is.

NRCC Statement: “Congressman Nick Rahall’s vote for government run health care is the latest in a turn to the far left for a politician who has been in office since Fantasy Island was on television. Indeed, after seeing Rahall’s bizarre vote for a budget that would destroy West Virginia’s economy, perhaps Rahall would be more representative of a fictional TV island than West Virginia.”   NRCC Spokesman Ian Prior
