Today’s Bombshell Benghazi Hearing Sheds Light On Obama Administration’s Cover-Up

May 8, 2013

Today’s hearing on the Benghazi cover-up provided a great deal of insight into last September’s attack on our mission that left four Americans dead.

The most revealing answers came from Gregory Hicks, the former Deputy Chief of Mission in Libya, who was on the ground in Benghazi the night of September 11th.

His bombshell testimony helped to directly contradict the Obama administration’s belief that the attack was a spontaneous protest regarding an inflammatory video.

Hicks said that both a CIA memo and an email from Beth Jones, Acting Assistant Secretary for Near Eastern Affairs—dated the day after the attacks—made it clear that it was the work of the Islamic extremist group Ansar al Sharia.

Hicks described his shock as he watched U.N. Ambassador Susan Rice describe the attack as a spontaneous protest in response to a video.

Here’s the video of Rice on Face the Nation the Sunday after the attack that Hicks is referring to.

Though the Obama Administration will try and cover it up, they repeatedly said the Benghazi attack was caused by a spontaneous protest to a video.

The Obama administration first tried to cover-up a blatant and deliberate terrorist attack on a diplomatic installation. They then began to systematically mislead the American people on the circumstances following that night in Benghazi, including withholding military assistance from Libya and changing talking points.

Though we may not be sure of much, what’s clear is this: four Americans are dead after bravely giving their lives in service to our country and we don’t have answers.
