Congressman Brad Schneider shamed into issuing statement on IRS

May 14, 2013

Illinois Congressman Brad Schneider was in no rush to stick up for his constituents when it comes to the IRS scandal that is causing President Obama a serious headache. It took numerous calls and emails from the press before Schneider would do the right thing and stand up for Illinois families. We know Schneider is an extreme supporter of Obama’s liberal policies but this takes his loyalties to another level.

Chicago Business reports:

“Driving the attack is the National Republican Congressional Committee, the party’s House election arm. It’s been firing off statements for a couple of days now, demanding that Democratic Reps. Brad Schneider of Deerfield and Bill Foster of Naperville deplore the decision by someone in the Internal Revenue Service to give slow treatment to requests for nonprofit status to groups with “tea party,” “patriot” and the like in their names.”

“Mr. Schneider, after a few calls and emails from me, finally had something to say, too. Reads a statement: “All groups, regardless of political affiliation, should be judged on an equal playing field. . . .The IRS should be independent and unbiased in its work and decisions, and any actions not consistent with this approach are simply unacceptable and must be fully investigated.”

So Mr. Schneider was a bit slow.”

Why did it take numerous calls and emails from reporters to get Brad Schneider to do the right thing? Does he think the IRS was well within their rights to do this to American citizens? And was this response to reporters a last minute panic moment due to the mounting pressure? Either way, Illinois families have yet another example of Brad Schneider putting the Obama Administration before the families of the 10th District.
