As Scandals Rise, Obama’s Credibility Plummets

June 5, 2013

We certainly have not gotten to the bottom of the litany of scandals swirling around Washington at the moment, yet one thing is becoming quite clear: President Obama’s credibility is taking a hit.

A Bloomberg poll is out this morning showing a 6 point drop in his approval rating, which now stands at 49 percent.

Digging deeper into the numbers, 47 percent of those polled believe he is not telling the truth when it comes to the IRS scandal.

These numbers are confirmed by another poll out this morning. An NBC News/Wall Street Journal poll shows 55 percent of respondents say the recent scandals raise doubts about “the overall honestly and integrity of the Obama administration.”

These numbers show that the Obama administration is quickly losing credibility with the American people. As scandals mount, it’s more important than ever that we have strong oversight on the Executive Branch.

Join us at the NRCC as we ensure that a strong Republican majority in the House can uncover the facts and hold President Obama accountable.
