FL Dem Rep. Joe Garcia has friends in low places

It looks like the level of corruption within Congressman Joe Garcia’s camp runs deep. Not only has Garcia’s chief of staff resigned while two other staffers’ homes have been raided by police, but now we are seeing former Hialeah Mayor Raul Martinez speaking in support of disgraced Congressman Garcia.

This is the same Mayor Raul Martinez who was at one time found “guilty of racketeering and extortion in the sale of his votes and influence on zoning matters in return for about $1 million in cash or property from developers.”

Martinez is also seen in this video punching and attacking another man at a protest in June of 1999.  Looks like Congressman Garcia requires a lack of judgment in all persons interested in working and or representing him in South Florida.

Also, of note: Raul Martinez’s son, Raul Martinez Jr., works for Congressman Joe Garcia as his District Director and fill-in spokesman while communications director Giancarlo Sopo is on unpaid leave due to his alleged role in the voter fraud scheme. Is this a way to keep the corruption all in the family?

Congressman Garcia needs to remember a message from moms across the world: You are only as good as the company you keep!

It seems Congressman Joe Garcia seeks out people with resumes that include the willingness to partake in fraudulent schemes while having a past that is full of political corruption. Florida families will have a hard time believing Garcia’s ‘I didn’t have anything to do with it’ routine when he clearly has an affection for people that are embroiled in scandal.
