Illinois Democrat Rep. Bill Foster’s Campaign Contributors Are Top 1% Of The 1%

June 25, 2013

Did you see this today?

In the latest story from Crain’s Chicago Business, we discover that Congressman Bill Foster’s campaign contributors are the top 1% of the 1% in our country.

“One other local item worth noting concerns U.S. Rep. Bill Foster, D-Naperville: According to Sunlight, Mr. Foster, a wealthy industrialist, received a greater share of his campaign cash from those in the 1 percent of the 1 percent than almost any other member of Congress. His office declined immediate comment.”

Sounds like quite the group of friends that Foster has! Shouldn’t be too surprising though seeing he is always named one of the wealthiest Members of Congress.

My Fox Chicago reported last fall: “During his 34 months on Capitol Hill, Democrat Bill Foster’s $18 million net worth made him the richest Illinoisan in Congress.”

In 2010, Roll Call reported the Top 50 Richest Members and on the list was Illinois’ own Bill Foster:

It’s no wonder why Congressman Bill Foster voted against the only budget proposed that would have balanced the budget in 10 years and created jobs for middle class Americans. Those aren’t problems for Bill Foster and his friends in the 1 percent club.

The view from the top must be nice because Congressman Bill Foster is making it clear that he loves to live in the 1 percent club and not in the real world. With Foster’s campaigns funded by the top 1 percent of the 1 percent, it should be no surprise that in Washington Foster’s record proves that he is watching out for his rich fat-cat friends and not the middle class families of Illinois.
