DCCC Recruitment Fail #3195: Mullen Not Running For IN-02

I wouldn’t want to be Steve Israel this weekend…

Just when you thought it couldn’t get any worse for the DCCC and Nancy Pelosi, their star recruit and 2012 candidate Brendan Mullen left them high and dry.

Roll Call is reporting that Mullen will not challenge Rep. Jackie Walorski next year.

Add this to the many Democratic recruiting failures in just the past few months. Buzzfeed reported last month of the serious troubles Israel and the DCCC are having getting candidates to run in 2014.

Also, earlier this week, recycled candidate Staci Appel flip-flopped back into a race in Iowa after dropping out once before.
