Scott Peters Stands By Mayor Filner Despite Sexual Harassment Allegations

As we learn about the graphic details of the allegations against Mayor Filner, countless members of the San Diego community have called on Bob Filner to resign. Despite the news of Filner’s unwanted sexual advances, touching, and groping of women, Congressman Scott Peters has not called for his resignation.

Shortly after Filner announced “I’m not going to resign,” KPBS News reported that DEMOCRATIC Congresswoman Susan Davis has called on Filner to step down, “I join those who are asking him to step down…”  So why is it so difficult for Peters to join this chorus in asking for his resignation?
