Polling Memo: ObamaCare & the Uninsured
ObamaCare: No Hope for the Uninsured
On June 22, 2010, President Obama proudly declared his health reform plan was one “that finally extends the opportunity to purchase coverage to the millions who currently don’t have it.”1
The big question—what do those millions think?
Today, 51 percent of uninsured voters disapprove of the “health care legislation passed by Barack Obama and Congress.” Why? Maybe it has something to do with the fact that 46 percent believe the President’s health care law will make things worse for them and their family. Another 16 percent think the $1Trillion dollars of ObamaCare spending will “have no effect” whatsoever. Lastly, a full 61 percent of uninsured voters say ObamaCare will make health care costs more expensive.
And, after all that, not only is ObamaCare leaving uninsured voters wildly unsatisfied, but the President’s promises of insuring coverage for the uninsured appears to be just another broken promise as reports from the CBO state the President’s Affordable Care Act will still leave 30 million Americans uninsured.
