After Saying No To Funding Bills, Votes Yes On Federal Workers’ Pay

It shows you how warped Elizabeth Esty’s priorities are that, after voting against bills to fund vital programs including cancer screenings, she’s decided to vote for a bill that would pay federal workers.

Elizabeth Esty stood against proposals all week that would fund essential programs like nutrition for women and children and the National Institutes of Health. Yet somehow, she finally found a bill that she could support: paying government workers. It’s inexcusable and it shows how misplaced her priorities are.

“Why is Elizabeth Esty putting federal workers’ pay ahead of funding for vital government programs like cancer research?” said NRCC Communications Director Andrea Bozek. “Connecticut families are struggling to understand why Esty can’t be bothered to help cancer patients, low income families and veterans, yet she will rush to ensure that federal workers are taken care of.”
