Another Bad Day in the Eldridge Mansion(s)

Ever since the New York Times article heard ‘round the political world, Sean Eldridge hasn’t had many good headlines – that is, other than the ones he’s been able to buy with his Super PAC Hudson River Ventures.

Yesterday it got even worse. The Oneonta Daily Star reported that Eldridge may have a primary challenge from a local Democrat. And the Daily Star reported, the interested Democrat wrote a letter to supporters bashing Eldridge and stating, correctly, that: “His candidacy has been welcomed by Republicans almost as much as Eldridge’s own supporters!”

Ouch!

It looks like that Eldridge’s whole “buy an election” strategy is having trouble getting off the ground.

NRCC Comment: “Nancy Pelosi’s protégé Sean Eldridge is so out of touch with the 19th District that even Democrats don’t want him as their candidate. While Eldridge may be able to use his $700 million fortune to fill his campaign chest and fund his Hudson River Ventures Super PAC, it’s becoming clearer by the day that he won’t be able to use it to cover up the fact that he is nothing more than an inexperienced and elitist opportunist.” – NRCC Spokesman Ian Prior
