Happy Friday,

Unless you’re DCCC recruit Domenic Recchia that is. Let’s take a look at Shady Dom’s bad week in headlines:

Monday:

Staten Island Advance, Tussle over property-tax lien stokes 2014 fire between Grimm, Recchia

Wednesday:

National Review, Democratic House Challengers, Suddenly Silent on Health Care

Thursday:

New York Daily News, Brooklyn city councilman asks for leniency for alleged mobster

Staten Island Advance, Report: Staten Island congressional candidate Recchia sought leniency for reputed mobster

National Review, GOP Incumbent to Challenger: Get Specific About Obamacare

Breitbart, Dem Candidate Recchia does a favor for the mob

Friday:

Hot Air, Too good to check: Dem House candidate supports convicted mobster

Lonely Conservative, NY Dem Candidate: Pal Of The Mob And Tax Evader

Take a look in particular at that last story from Lonely Conservative. It includes an interactive challenge that allows you to go to the City of New York property tax database and see that Recchia’s tax lien in 2010 may have been a “snafu” as he told the NY Post, but after satisfying that lien he proceeded to pay his property taxes late – every single quarter since July of 2010 – the same year he became Chair of the New York City Finance Committee.

NRCC Comment: “From tax troubles to mob favors, this has not been a banner week for Domenic Recchia. Maybe Recchia should take a break from writing letters urging leniency for gangsters and start writing some position statements for his Congressional web page.” – NRCC Spokesman Ian Prior
