What Do House Democrats Think About Obama’s Left Turn?

Democrats apparently have come up with yet another strategy they think will help them win next November: Become even more liberal.

Today’s Politico headline: “President Obama turns left”

From the story: “Obama needs his base invested to help him recover from his low poll numbers and give his party a platform as Democrats try to make the House competitive and hold onto to their majority in the Senate.”

I wonder how these Democrats
feel about the White House’s new strategy:

  • Ann Kirkpatrick (AZ-01): R+4; Romney 50%
  • Ron Barber (AZ-02): R+3; Romney 50%
  • John Barrow (GA-12); R+9; Romney 55%
  • Collin Peterson (MN-07); R+6; Romney 54%
  • Mike McIntyre (NC-07); R+12; Romney 59%
  • Jim Matheson (UT-04); R+16; Romney 67%
  • Nick Rahall (WV-03); R+14; Romney 65%

Bottom line: With the left-wing of their party increasingly vocal, Democrat incumbents are actually going to have to go left of President Obama in districts Mitt Romney won in order to drive out their ultra-liberal base – and that’s a real problem for them.
