Chairman Walden’s Statement on Congressman Mike McIntyre’s Retirement Announcement

WASHINGTON – National Republican Congressional Committee Chairman Greg Walden released the following statement today on Democrat Congressman Mike McIntyre’s announcement that he will not seek re-election in 2014:

“If it wasn’t clear before with the retirement of Rep. Jim Matheson, today’s announcement from Rep. Mike McIntyre solidifies the extremely difficult road ahead for Democrats in 2014. This retirement announcement also proves that ObamaCare and its negative impact continues to burden Democrats in 2014 – even for Democrats who voted against the law like McIntyre and Matheson.

“When these two throw in the towel you have to wonder who is next, especially among those Democrats in similar districts who backed ObamaCare and other reckless policies.”
