Someone Should Tell Amanda Renteria How Much Of Her “Grassroots” Fundraising Actually Came From Lobbyists

Amanda Renteria

Yesterday, Amanda Renteria’s campaign sent out a fundraising blast soliciting donations and touting a strong “grassroots” fundraising effort.

But not so fast. When you dig below the surface of Renteria’s donors you’ll see that her contributions are a far cry from “grassroots.” Of Renteria’s reported total, $44,150 came from registered lobbyists.

You might remember that just two days after announcing her candidacy, Amanda Renteria traveled to Washington to rub elbows with contacts from her career in DC working for some of Washington’s most partisan Senators.

It’s clear that Amanda Renteria is NOT running a grassroots campaign, and is already selling access to powerful lobbyists. Meanwhile, the House of Representatives approved California’s emergency drought bill, led by Congressman David Valadao.

“After eight years of working for some of the most partisan senators, it’s clear Amanda Renteria is no more than a partisan Washington insider. California families deserve better than a politician who is willing to milk her DC-connections for campaign cash at the expense of Valley farmers.” – Alleigh Marré, NRCC Spokeswoman
