This House Democrat Just Flushed $700,000 Down the Toilet

Did you see where New York Congressman Dan Maffei just bought a $700,000 home – in Alexandria, Virginia? That’s right, $700,000 – for a second home!

While Central New York families are struggling with a sluggish economy, high cost of living, and the train wreck that is Obamacare, D.C. Dan is living large in the place where his heart truly is – Washington D.C.

Not only is this insanely out-of-touch, but it strikes us as a pretty bad investment. After all, Maffei tends to lose elections in non-presidential years when there is more focus on his record and ineffectiveness. And this year there is going to be a magnifying glass pointed right at Maffei’s vote for Obamacare and its job killing medical device tax.

So he’s not really going to need that house after November 4.

Then again, maybe D.C. Dan is just setting himself up to be a big time lobbyist when he gets fired from Congress – again.

NRCC Comment: “D.C. Dan Maffei apparently loves the Washington life so much that he decided to put down roots there. Maffei will certainly have lots of time to spend in his new $700,000 home after November 4th when Central New Yorkers tell him he can stay in Washington, just not as their representative.” – NRCC Spokesman Ian Prior
