This DCCC-Annointed Candidate in NJ Will Only Do Interviews By Email

This past November, we shared with you a radio interview in which Aimee Belgard, DCCC-anointed Democrat in NJ-03, couldn’t move away from her generic talking points. This prompted host Dom Giordano to tell her “[m]aybe you shouldn’t be running for Congress until you know what you’re talking about.”

Well, here we are five months later and Belgard apparently still isn’t confident enough to talk about issues. Check out this article in the Philadelphia Inquirer where Belgard would not consent to a phone interview with the reporter and instead emailed generic DCCC-sanctioned talking points.

Why is Belgard afraid to talk about issues? Is it because she knows that she will have to address Obamacare and how “1,800 families in New Jersey were receiving letters telling them their children would be losing their health coverage last week?”

NRCC Comment: “Aimee Belgard is clearly not ready for prime time. Rather than explain what she would do about the 1,800 families who are losing insurance coverage for their children because of Obamacare, Belgard won’t take reporters’ phone calls to talk about important issues, choosing instead to hide behind empty talking points written by Nancy Pelosi’s campaign organization.”  – NRCC Spokesman Ian Prior
