West Virginia House Democrat Literally Sells Soul to Nancy Pelosi
“Someday, and that day may never come, I’ll call upon you to do a service for me.” –Vito Corleone, The Godfather
In light of the revelation that Nick Rahall was going to retire until “Democratic leadership [] promised him more campaign funds,” one can’t help but wondering what new anti-coal favors Rahall is going to have to do for his financiers Nancy Pelosi and Barack Obama.
After all, Nancy Pelosi’s SuperPAC “House Majority PAC,” has spent a pretty penny putting up deceptive ads in support of Rahall. What will that support cost Rahall?
More importantly, what will the Pelosi/Obama support cost West Virginia when they call on Nick Rahall to do a new service for them?
Perhaps another Rahall vote against the coal industry?
Stay tuned . . .
NRCC Comment: “Nick Rahall showed exactly where his loyalties lie when the allure of Nancy Pelosi’s campaign cash convinced him to run for re-election. Unfortunately for West Virginia, Pelosi and Barack Obama are going to expect favors in return for that money – and those favors aren’t going to be good for the coal industry.” – NRCC Spokesman Ian Prior
