New Report Confirms Only 67% of ObamaCare “Enrollees” Have Actually Paid Their First Premium
A shocking new report from the House Energy and Commerce Committee Republicans completely knocks the White House’s and the Democrats’ ObamaCare spin on its side.
According to the report, based on information gathered from insurance companies, just 67% of people who had signed up for health plans through federal marketplaces had paid their first month’s premium as of April 15.
It’s a crucial number, because until someone actually pays their first premium, they don’t have insurance – which means that out of the 8 million “enrollees” that President Obama touted earlier this month, nearly one third are not actually enrolled in a health plan.
Despite the rosy scenario and “move on” mentality that President Obama is trying to create, ObamaCare remains a disaster with no accountability and rising consequences.
From the Associated Press:
House Republicans issued a report Wednesday saying that one-third of people who signed up for health insurance through new federal exchanges hadn’t paid their first month’s premium as of mid-April, which could undermine the Obama administration’s claims of robust enrollment under the new health law.
But administration officials, outside experts and even the health insurance industry immediately questioned the report, offering the latest skirmish over questionable claims and counterclaims that have come to characterize debate over President Barack Obama’s signature health law.
The report by House Energy and Commerce Committee Republicans said 67 percent of people who had signed up for health insurance through federal marketplaces had paid their first month’s premiums as of April 15.
