Democrat Candidate Trying to Hide from Obama & Pelosi

May 7, 2014

Jennifer Garrison is the Democrat nominee for Ohio’s 6th Congressional District and she is already desperately trying to seem like a “Blue Dog Democrat” and distance herself from President Obama.

From the Ironton Tribune:

“Manchin has been willing to reach across party lines,” Garrison said. “I support the bipartisan Electricity and Affordability Act that he helped introduce. He’s a Democrat who, like me, disagrees with the president.”

The problem for Garrison is that she has already shown her true progressive colors. Whether it’s her support for keeping Obamacare the law of the land or her vote in the State Legislature to tax coal, Garrison has proven to be an Obama/Pelosi Democrat.

NRCC Statement: “Jennifer Garrison’s support for Obamacare and her vote to tax coal in the state has hurt Ohio families and will put her at odds with the folks she needs to vote for her this November. While Garrison will try to spin her liberal past, the fact of the matter is that Garrison would be Nancy Pelosi’s lap dog if sent to Congress.” – NRCC Spokeswoman Katie Prill

Background:

In 2009, Jennifer Garrison voted for the House version of the 2010-2011 biennial budget. The House budget would impose an 8-cent-per-ton “tax” on coal, which state officials projected would generate $446,000 a year, but the coal industry estimated would raise $1.8 million.

The President of the Ohio Coal Association said the House budget would “have a devastating impact on Ohio’s coal families”
