This Pennsylvania Democrat Won’t Vote for Himself for Congress

May 19, 2014

Imagine you’re Manan Trivedi. You have lost two consecutive Congressional elections by double digits. Now you can run for an open seat, but you’re running against Ryan Costello, one of the top Republican candidates in the country in a Republican leaning district in a year that promises to be great for Republicans.

So Trivedi is going to need every vote he can get. Unfortunately, he won’t be able to get the easiest vote out there – his own!

That is because, according to his Candidate Affidavit, Trivedi lives in Pennsylvania’s 7th Congressional District. Unfortunately, Trivedi is running for Congress in Pennsylvania’s 6th Congressional district.

NRCC Comment: “Career Congressional candidate Manan Trivedi doesn’t seem to have this whole ‘winning elections’ thing figured out. While the term ‘every vote counts’ hasn’t really applied in Trivedi’s blowout defeats, it’s pretty incredible that he would run for Congress in a district where he can’t even vote for himself.”– NRCC Spokesman Ian Prior
