The San Francisco Liberal Running for Congress in New York’s Southern Tier

June 2, 2014

It’s tough to think of Democrat Congressional Candidate Martha Robertson without having the song “San Francisco” stuck in your head for the rest of the day. After all, Robertson explains the post-collegiate gap in her resume by saying that she went to California, “just like everyone else did,” and it’s pretty clear that she brought her left coast political views with her to the Southern Tier of New York.

Robertson supports a Canadian-style single payer healthcare system, thinks climate change is the number on issue for Southern Tier families, and proudly states that she will vote for Nancy Pelosi as Speaker of the House.

So it should come as no surprise that Robertson refused to answer questions from the media about whether the VA scandal has changed her perspective on a single payer healthcare system. After all, Robertson is running to help advance San Francisco liberalism and she could care less what Southern Tier families think.

If she did care what they thought, she probably wouldn’t have had a fundraiser with a folk singing child molester and she probably wouldn’t have lied to her local donors for campaign cash.

NRCC Comment: “Of all the candidates running for Congress in 2014, Martha Robertson may be the most out-of-touch with the district she supposedly wants to serve. The more voters learn about Robertson, the more they see that she is far more concerned with implementing her liberal, San Francisco agenda then she is with helping Southern Tier families trying to make ends meet.”– NRCC Spokesman Ian Prior
