SUBJECT: NEVADA PRIMARY RESULTS

Nevada Democrats find themselves in a difficult position going into November. Once deemed a strong candidate in Nevada’s 3rd Congressional District, Erin Bilbray’s campaign has since fizzled out. Embarrassing gaffes and staff turnover have put Bilbray’s campaign on the defensive. Bilbray’s campaign has become so bad that it has been openly mocked on local political television programs. In Nevada’s 4th Congressional District, Steven Horsford has proven to be a loyal foot soldier for Barack Obama and Nancy Pelosi. A staunch supporter of ObamaCare and reckless spending, Horsford will find it difficult to explain his voting record to his constituents.

NV-03: Joe Heck, R v. Erin Bilbray, D

Dr. Joe Heck has represented Nevada’s 3rd Congressional District honorably over his two terms in office. A strong voice for Nevada’s middle class, Heck has made it a priority to help unemployed Nevadans and victims of foreclosures. Putting the interests of Nevada families ahead of Washington politicians and special interests has been a staple of Heck’s time in Congress. Joe Heck is a veteran, a Colonel in the U.S. Army Reserve, a former small businessman, and even a former volunteer firefighter. Joe Heck’s record in Congress has earned him the praise of the Las Vegas Review Journal for his work to simplify the tax code, address the government’s budget problems, and reform the congressional pension system.

Erin Bilbray, originally a top Washington recruit, has failed to gain any traction due to staff turnover and a series of painful gaffes. Bilbray infamously called Rep. Joe Heck ‘Un-American’ and ‘liked’ a racist Facebook post. Bilbray’s campaign collapse has been so bad, the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee and Nancy Pelosi’s Super PAC have refused to reserve any television ad time in Nevada’s 3rd Congressional District.

Geography: PVI: EVEN; Obama 49.3% – Romney 48.5%. Nevada’s 3rd Congressional District is located in the south Las Vegas suburbs and includes Henderson. Both the Cook Political Report and the Rothenberg Report rate it as Lean Republican.

NV-04: Cresent Hardy, R v. Steven Horsford, D

Steven Horsford’s voting record doesn’t match his district. Since being elected to Congress, Horsford has toed the Democrat Party line, regardless of its impact on hardworking families in his district. Horsford has been a strong advocate for ObamaCare and has voted for trillions in new taxes and spending. Cresent Hardy’s commitment to fiscal responsibility and common sense policies will give voters a clear choice in November.

Geography: PVI: D+4; Obama 54.2% – Romney 43.5%. Nevada’s 4th Congressional District is located in the northern Las Vegas suburbs. The Cook Political Report rates it as Likely Democratic and the Rothenberg Report rate it as a Safe Democrat.

CRESENT HARDY BIOGRAPHY

Born and raised in Mesquite, Nevada, Cresent Hardy has always worked hard to not only take care of himself and his family, but to give back to his community. His commitment to public service is clear – he has served as the Mesquite Public Works Director, a member of the Virgin Valley Water District, and as a member of the Mesquite City Council. Cresent Hardy brings over two decades of distinguished public service experience to his campaign for Nevada’s 4th Congressional District.

A fifth-generation resident of Mesquite – his grandfather was the first baby born in the town – Hardy knows the importance of building a strong, safe community for families. Growing up in a farming community taught Cresent the value of hard work at a young age. As a small business owner, Cresent Hardy knows what it takes to create jobs, make payroll, and meet a budget. The value of a hard day’s work and being self-reliant helped him to succeed in his career as a licensed contractor and small business owner.
