California Democrat Refusing To Return Donation From Indicted Democrat Mega-Donor

June 24, 2014

It’s been four days since we first learned that Democrat mega-donor Kareem Ahmed was indicted for corruption, insurance fraud, and even involuntary manslaughter.

It’s also been four days since we learned that Democrat Rep. Julia Brownley took $2,600, the maximum contribution, from Ahmed in June 2013. On Friday, we asked that she return the dirty money that he’s funneled into her campaign immediately.

But get this: despite being asked about this today, Brownley’s campaign is refusing to answer any questions. The Brownley campaign did not respond to a request for comment.

Is Brownley actually going to defend this indicted donor? Is her campaign desperate for the money? Or is she going to take a stand against this indicted donor and return the dirty donation immediately?

NRCC Comment: “Not only has Julia Brownley refused to return the $2,600 donation she received from an indicted Democrat mega-donor, but now she’s hoping no one notices. The voters in Ventura County deserve a representative in Congress who will stand up to corruption and dirty money, not willingly accept it as a donation.” – Andrew Clark, Digital Press Secretary, NRCC
