NRCC Thanks DCCC For More NY-11 Incompetence

January 26, 2015

DCCC

Here at the NRCC we’re feeling a little like the debtors at the end of the 1971 musical “Scrooge.” Why, you ask? Because in its first test of the 2016 cycle, the DCCC has shown that it is incompetent as ever – especially in NY-11.

Let’s recap:

Remember Domenic Recchia, the DCCC’s recruit in 2014? Well, how do we say this . . .  he had a bad time.

In the approaching NY-11 special, the DCCC first had its sights set on former Congressman Mike McMahon to run in the NY-11 special election. He said thanks but no thanks.

Then the DCCC rallied to Michael Cusick and went with the unorthodox strategy of leaking an internal poll showing Cusick getting absolutely crushed by Republican Dan Donovan. It should shock no one then that this morning the Staten Island Advance reported that Cusick announced that he would not be running for Congress.

Certainly a great way for new DCCC Chairman Ben Ray Luján to start out a new cycle – well, at least WE think it’s great!

NRCC Comment: “The NRCC is so grateful that the Nancy Pelosi, Ben Ray Luján, and the rest of the folks at the DCCC have chosen to put their incompetence on full display in New York’s 11th Congressional district. Whether it’s leaking a disastrous poll or failing to land its two top choices to run for Congress, we are certainly thankful and looking forward to watching another D-level Democrat flail away in embarrassment in a district Democrats need to win just to be able to sniff the majority in 2016.” – NRCC Spokesman Ian Prior
