5 years ago Nancy Pelosi said we had to pass Obamacare to find out what’s in it . . . here’s what we found out
March 9, 2015
It’s hard to believe that five years ago today Nancy Pelosi told America that we had to pass Obamacare to find out what was in it. Well, here we are in 2015 and we have started to do just that. Let’s take a look at some of the things we have learned about Obamacare since Pelosi’s notorious statement:
-
The Website didn’t work – and when it did, everyone’s sensitive information was still not secure.
-
It turned the “40 hour work week” into a “30 hour work week.”
-
It was passed with such careless haste that the language concerning the federal subsidies is confusing even the Supreme Court.
-
It raises premiums.
-
It raises college tuition.
-
It cut $716 billion from Medicare.
-
It created the IPAB – a board of fifteen government bureaucrats that get to make health care decisions for us.
-
It makes it difficult to sign up newborns for health care.
-
It penalizes married couples who want to sign up.
-
It hurts innovation and kills jobs with the medical device tax.
-
It adds 159 million hours of paperwork per year on the public.
-
Approximately 5 million people had their health plans cancelled because of Obamacare.
